National Apprenticeship Wages
The national minimum apprentice wage is a guideline and is the minimum recommended wage for an apprentice. Employers may consider paying more than the minimum, especially if extensive travel to and from the workplace is required.
The national minimum wage is reviewed in October each year, the current 2015 rate is:
|21 and over||18 to 20||Under 18||Apprentice*|
Please note that the apprentice wage will go up to £3.30 an hour from 1 October 2015
* Apprentices are entitled to an apprentice wage if they’re under 19 or over 19 and in the first year of their apprenticeship.
Please note: Apprentices over 19 who have completed the first year of their apprenticeship are entitled to the national minimum wage rate for their age.
